Nashville is famous for its star-studded romances, with many country music power couples collaborating both on stage and off. But when it comes to topping the charts together, achieving that coveted #1 spot as a married duo is a rate feat.
Think of some of the genre's most beloved pairs. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood captured hearts and a Grammy Award for their 1997 duet "In Another's Eyes," yet the powerful ballad peaked just shy of the top.
The legendary Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash created timeless, Grammy-winning classics like "Jackson" and "If I Were a Carpenter," but surprisingly, never scored a joint #1 hit on the country charts during their marriage.
Even modern cross-genre darlings Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani saw their 2020 smash "Nobody But You" become a massive hit, but it didn't quite reach the summit.
So, who actually holds this exclusive chart honor? It turns out only two married couples in country music history have managed the feat.
The first was Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, whose iconic 1997 love song "It's Your Love" soared to #1 and became a defining anthem for the couple and the era.
Then, the wait began. It wasn't until 24 years later, in 2022, that another couple joined the club. Kane Brown and his wife, Katelyn Brown, finally broke the dry spell, taking their heartfelt duet "Thank God" all the way to #1, proving that while collaborative magic is common, topping the charts together is truly something special.
