From the swamps to the cities, Louisiana boasts a rich musical gumbo, blending country, Cajun, blues, and rock like nowhere else. Curious about which Pelican State natives are currently topping the country charts? According to Country Bios' exclusive algorithm, here’s who's leading the Louisiana pack!
Sitting high at #24 overall is none other than Tim McGraw. Born in Delhi but raised in Start, this superstar needs little introduction. From his breakout in the 90s to acting roles and stadium tours, McGraw remains a dominant force, never forgetting his Northeast Louisiana roots.
Right behind him at #30 is the bell-bottomed sensation Lainey Wilson! Hailing from tiny Baskin (population: 250!), Wilson is making country cool again. She famously moved to Nashville in a camper trailer, and her perseverance paid off, making her one of country's hottest acts and a multi-award winner.
Shreveport represents strongly with Jordan Davis (#46), whose hits like "Buy Dirt" and "Singles You Up" showcase his knack for catchy melodies, and the legendary Hank Williams Jr. (#68). Bocephus's birth in Shreveport adds to the city's rich musical legacy.
The Louisiana hit parade continues with Dylan Scott (Bastrop, #69), known for "My Girl"; the towering baritone Trace Adkins (Sarepta, #88); rising star Bryan Martin (Logansport, #94); multi-instrumentalist prodigy Hunter Hayes (Breaux Bridge, #131); and soulful storyteller Graham Barham (Oak Ridge, #169).
Louisiana's influence on country music is undeniable and continues to grow.
